Inspired by the Caves of Lascaux video we saw on Discovery Education, the Studio undertook a special collaborative project: We created 9 panels of cave art, each made by a 4th grade class at RJR . These were mounted in our Discovery Lab, a place where anything can happen! And then, we filmed our first experience in the cave. http://discoveryeducation.com/ see: The Mysteries of Cave Art.
We learned that the marks left by the artists represented human, animal and symbolic form.
Lessons from the Cave RJR 2009
These videos were filmed using our Flipcam and edited on Flipshare.
The artists used pigment from the earth, including charcoal.
